  8. New Journey! After much requests for On Screen controls, I have decided to take on the mission to learn code. Specifically Objective C, Cocoa, and FXPlug. I have ordered my books and I am excited to learn new things that will make the templates more powerful and user-friendly.

      I am sorry to say, but Final Cut Pro cannot add sound to generators, yet.

      At this time, the best way to add the audio is to sync it manually under the generator template. If you would like, I can record a video tutorial for you tomorrow on how to do this.

      Another option, if you have a lot of videos with audio, is to use Slide Show Creator Pro: https://motionmastertemplates.com/slide-show-creator-pro/

      Slideshow Creator Pro works as an effect instead of a generator. That means we add the effect onto the photo or video/audio. Once we get the look we want we then copy or paste the effect to all the other clips. Or we may also edit all your clips into one compound clip and then add the effect to the whole compound clip.

      • Ok thanks. I can’t get the videos to load in any of the drop zones except for the first drop zone so I don’t think it will work anyways. I’m trying to make a video for a testimonial and I have 5 small video clips that I’m trying to use.

        I will make create a quick video tutorial on how to get the audio and video to work with your template.

        Using videos is a little tricky with generators, I believe this is something Apple can and will work on to improve.
        In the meantime, we have to use a workaround to get audio and video to sync correctly.

        I will post the video tutorial here and in the documentation as soon as it is ready.

  39. Here is a nice little feature I have just discovered for Vimeo Users.

    Once you install the Vimeo MacOS app we get a Vimeo Advanced Export setting in our media export button in FCPX. With this, we can export the type of video compression we want and best of all we can now replace a Vimeo video that is already on our Vimeo account. This has been a huge time saver for me. 🙂

  44. For the player controls, is there a way to offset the icons in various places on the field. Right now it only goes from a range of 100 to -100 but that does not cover the length of the field. I want to put pictures in various places on the field.

    • Hello @sheila1314217 !

      If I add more distance it would appear that way when it animates on, unless we have the intro animation off.

      I could add more distance or, we can also just select the option to use just one player and place them anywhere we want on the field separately.

      Please keep in mind that if I add more distance in the up and down offset, it will appear that way on the animation intro when the players appear.

      However, if we leave the animation intro off then it will not be a problem. This is due to a limitation on how the animation works.

      Please let me know if you would still want me to add more distance to cover the entire field.

  69. I had a few days of delay. Since it seems that Apple will not be supporting Package Maker in future OS releases, I have decided to get and learn a new App to package and deliver the Templates. The App I will be using is called Packages and so far I love it. Eventually, I would like to learn how to do it all in code to save more time.

  87. This is something many of us may know, but to those that do not, Automator can be a Huge Time Saver!!

    For a while now I have been packaging my templates before I deliver them to customers, clients, etc. However, Apple is adding more steps to the workflow. My steps are to create folders my template delivery packages, create tutorials, marketing items, Resources, etc. Then I create a Package, Build a Package Bundle, Notarize the Package, Add Notarization Info, Staple Notarization, Verify and then deliver.

    Fortunately, my good friend Joe Workman had recommended I Automate the entire process with Automator. Automator is a tool I had used many years ago, but I had forgotten about it. So I got busy to get reacquainted with it and I am thrilled I did.

    Now, what used to take me 30-60 minutes ( depending on human error, etc ) now it only takes me a few seconds with one Automation workflow to accomplish all of the above steps.

    My workflow is a little complex as I use Apple Script, Shell Script, and some Perl scripting and it took me a few days to get it to work, but I believe it was well worth the time.

    Many of you may not need advanced scripting workflow like me, but even simple automation can help save time. Even 1-5 minutes of a repetitive task can add up to 20-100 minutes a month, or 240-1,200 minutes a year! That is a lot of time. 🙂
